my story in short
The health world didn’t just interest me, it claimed me. I fell in love with food, with healing, and with the community that naturally forms around people who want to feel better. I’ve always wanted to help others one‑on‑one, and my own story was a good reason why.
I was born with Cerebral Palsy, a quiet misfire in early development that left the pathways between my brain, bones, nerves, and muscles tangled before I ever took a breath. It meant my body learned the world through tension. Every movement was a negotiation, and every step took a little more effort. My nervous system lived like a startled animal, always braced and ready to run.
For 34 years, I moved through life in a body that was doing its best with scrambled instructions, pain that I coughed up as normal vibrated beneath everything, inflammation shaped my days, and the distant voices of professionals telling me what I would never do, never be, or never reclaim. I adapted. I survived. But I wasn’t living. I was managing my symptoms the only way I knew possible. I was simply holding on for things to eventually become worse as I got older.
Everything changed in November 2015
At the Averio Health Institute in Mount Vernon, Washington, I experienced what 48 chiropractic adjustments, holistic care, and plant‑based nutrition could do in a single week. I was awakened from my cerebral coma. In just five days, a dialed‑in blend of targeted nutrition and concentrated chiropractic work sparked a measurable 60% shift toward normalized spinal alignment, basically, my spine decided to level up. Each adjustment within the spine creates a new response in the brain. Over the past ten years I have returned multiple times. I have regenerated a previously degenerated cervical disc, the ligaments in my neck have repaired, and the subluxations in my spine continue to unwind. That ongoing work keeps reshaping my nervous system, my body's structure, and my brains abilities to function better in ways that have opened a life I never knew was possible.
That experience opened my eyes to the influence we can have on our own health through real food, intentional movement, and choosing to stay engaged with our bodies rather than disconnected from them.
In June 2017, I graduated from the Nutritional Therapy Association as a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (FNTP). That training gave me the tools to assess nutritional and supplemental needs and help bring the body back into balance in a natural, holistic way.
I’m still learning. Still growing. Still expanding my craft so I can help others experience the kind of transformation I was lucky enough to find.
